  1. Incorporation of Society
  2. Website Construction
  3. Hoople Bay ‘River Watch’
  4. Proposed Zoom Meeting with Biotactic Inc.

Incorporation Status

We have successfully incorporated our Society as a started with the Incorporation of our Society under the Canada Not-for-Profit Incorporations Act. We have four Directors of record and we will be reaching out to several other key individuals to request they consider becoming an officer in our Society. Our Incorporation Document may be viewed here: https://1drv.ms/b/s!Agjzck0Py7BXge4OS0f3en2_sGdhrg?e=lvHkIp

Website Construction

We previously reported Jillian Sliter is a Graphic Artist working in the Barrie, Ontario area who has volunteered her time to create an official website for our ‘Friends of Hoople Creek’ group. A Domain has been purchased and the Website is now active. See www.friendsofhooplecreek.ca.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE REGISTER FOR NEWSLETTERS ON OUR NEW WEBSITE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST LANDING PAGE!

Hoople Creek ‘River Watch’

We really require some assistance from EVERYONE to send us some photos for our Website and Facebook Group. Please consider sharing any photos you might take, or come across, of wildlife, fish, aquatic life, water levels, weed growth, etc, with our Group. It is all about constant vigilance and awareness as we all work together to protect this nature reserve!  Send them to hooplecreek@cogeco.ca

Proposed Meeting with Biotactic Inc.

Chris Bunt has advised they have made several new exciting developments with their software/hardware using Artificial Intelligence technology to enhance fish identity, etc. Chris has agreed to participate in a follow-up Zoom meeting similar to the one hosted by Lisa VanDeligt of the Raison River Conservation Authority back last fall. We will hopefully arrange that ASAP.

Finally, although things did quiet down this winter as expected, work behind the scenes is continuing. On a personal note, I am down in Texas on the Guadalupe River fly fishing for Trout and enjoying myself. I was also away in November to fly to Mexico to get married but I will be home in the Spring and eager to get moving on a few key items!

John Sliter, Interim President Friends of Hoople Creek Society
